CO₂ Measurement – Measure Carbon Dioxide Precisely
Measure CO₂ precisely with NDIR technology: Continuous carbon dioxide monitoring for emission monitoring, biogas plants and industrial processes.
CO₂ Measurement in Industry and Environment
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is one of the most important measurands in industry and environmental technology. In emission monitoring, CO₂ measurement is mandatory under regulations. In biogas plants, it monitors the fermentation process and methane yield. In the food industry, it controls the protective gas atmosphere during packaging. And in buildings, CO₂ concentration is an indicator of indoor air quality. For all these applications, Fresenius Instruments relies on the NDIR measurement principle – the most proven method for selective and precise CO₂ determination.
CO₂ molecules absorb infrared radiation at a characteristic wavelength of 4.26 µm. NDIR analyzers exploit this property to determine CO₂ concentration with accuracies of typically ±1% of full-scale value – across measurement ranges from a few ppm to 100 vol.%. Cross-sensitivity to other gases is minimal, which is a decisive advantage particularly with complex gas mixtures in industrial processes.
For dedicated CO₂ measurement tasks, the GA210 offers a compact single-gas solution that integrates quickly into existing installations. When CO₂ must be measured together with other components – such as CO, CH₄, SO₂, NO or O₂ – the GA220 multi-gas analyzer combines multiple sensors in a 19-inch rack housing and captures up to 8 measurement channels simultaneously.
The patented automatic zero-point correction without test gas ensures the long-term stability of both devices without requiring regular procurement of costly calibration gases. Combined with the RCI series gas coolers for clean sample gas and the Cloud Connect Kit for real-time remote monitoring, you receive a complete CO₂ measurement system from a single source – Made in Germany, with 30+ years lifespan and 10+ years spare parts guarantee.
