Biogas Analysis – Precise Measurement for Biogas Plants
Reliable biogas analysis for optimal plant efficiency: Precisely measure CH₄, CO₂, H₂S and O₂ with gas analyzers from Fresenius – including patented zero-point correction without test gas.
Biogas Analysis for Maximum Plant Efficiency
Biogas composition fluctuates considerably depending on substrate, temperature and fermentation stage – typically 50–75% CH₄, 25–45% CO₂ and variable levels of H₂S, O₂ and hydrogen. For process optimization, safety monitoring and regulatory-compliant feed-in to the natural gas grid, continuous, precise biogas analysis is therefore indispensable. Fresenius Instruments offers the right analyzer for every requirement level.
For standard biogas plants, the BioBasic is the ideal solution: a plug-and-play biogas analyzer that continuously measures CH₄, CO₂, H₂S and O₂ and is expandable to up to 5 gas inputs. Flame arresters reliably protect the plant against flashback – please note, however, that the BioBasic itself is not approved for use in Ex zones and must be installed outside potentially explosive areas.
For biomethane feed-in plants where the highest measurement accuracy is required, the GA220 Biomethane and the Biomethane TDLAS provide the necessary performance level. The GA220 Biomethane monitors main components using NDIR technology, while the TDLAS laser analyzer detects trace gases in the ppb range – critical for meeting feed-in limit values. Both devices operate with patented automatic zero-point correction without test gas, significantly reducing ongoing operating costs.
The Cloud Connect Kit complements biogas analysis with real-time remote monitoring via mobile network: measurement data and alarms are transmitted automatically – ideal for biogas plants at remote locations that can only be serviced on site infrequently. This allows operators of multiple plants to keep all measurement points centrally in view.
