CEMS – Continuous Emission Monitoring
CEMS systems for continuous emission monitoring: Measure, document and report in compliance with standards – with gas analyzers from Fresenius Instruments.
CEMS – Monitor Emissions in Compliance
Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) are legally mandated under emission regulations for numerous facilities – from power plants and waste incineration plants to cement works and chemical production sites. Fresenius Instruments supplies CEMS-compliant gas analyzers that meet all regulatory requirements while being simpler and more cost-effective than complex modular systems from large competitors.
The GA220 multi-gas analyzer forms the heart of our CEMS solution: in a compact 19-inch rack housing, it combines NDIR sensors for NO, SO₂, CO, CO₂, N₂O and other infrared-active gases with paramagnetic or ZrO₂-based O₂ measurement and electrochemical channels – up to 8 measurement components simultaneously. The patented automatic zero-point correction without test gas eliminates costly calibration gas procurement and minimizes downtime in regulated measurement operations.
Reliable sample gas conditioning is provided by our RCI series gas coolers: the RCI 500 in 19-inch rack format cools the sample gas to a dew point temperature of 5 °C, achieving a residual moisture of just 0.86%. The Duran glass heat exchanger withstands even aggressive exhaust gas components for decades. Complete sampling systems for gas extraction directly at the stack round out the CEMS package.
The Cloud Connect Kit enables real-time remote monitoring of all CEMS measurement points: measurement data, status messages and alarms are transmitted via mobile network, allowing operators to keep their emission monitoring in view across all sites. In case of faults, automatic notifications are sent – many problems can be diagnosed and resolved remotely before a service technician needs to be on site.
