Measuring principles. Our biogas measurement technology measures methane and carbon dioxide with infrared (NDIR): both gases absorb infrared light at characteristic wavelengths, and the attenuation gives the concentration. The BioBasic uses the NDIR dual-pressure reference method. It measures hydrogen sulphide, oxygen and hydrogen electrochemically; the BioBasic Biomethane measures H₂S in biomethane by NDUV.
Sampling. Measurement is extractive: an internal pump draws the gas through the sampling line – 40 m as standard on the BioBasic. The device stands outside the Ex zone; ATEX-certified flame arresters at sample gas inlet and outlet protect the plant, and the BioBasic internally monitors methane at 20 % LEL. A condensate trap with level monitoring and automatic drain keeps moisture out of the measurement.
Integration. Readings reach your control system via 4–20 mA, relays or fieldbus such as Modbus TCP, Profinet, Profibus DP and EtherNet/IP.

Thanks to automatic zero-point correction, maintenance effort is minimal. We recommend annual inspection, service contracts provide additional security.
