Choosing the right biogas analyzer depends on the specific application. Fresenius Instruments offers the BioBasic and the GA220 Biomethane as two specialized devices that optimally serve different requirement profiles – from simple plant operation to regulated feed-in monitoring.
The BioBasic is designed as a plug-and-play biogas analyzer: unpack, connect, measure. It continuously captures the four core components CH₄, CO₂, H₂S and O₂ and is expandable to up to 5 gas inputs – ideal for operators who want to cover multiple measurement points with a single device. The patented automatic zero-point correction without test gas saves ongoing costs for calibration gases and reduces maintenance to a minimum. Flame arresters reliably protect the plant against flashback. Important: the BioBasic itself is not approved for Ex zones and must be installed outside potentially explosive areas.
The GA220 Biomethane targets operators of biomethane feed-in plants who must comply with regulatory limit values. As a multi-gas analyzer, it monitors all relevant main components using NDIR technology and offers the ability to measure O₂ via paramagnetic sensor in parallel. For trace gas measurements in the ppb range – such as monitoring siloxanes or sulfur compounds before grid injection – the Biomethane TDLAS complements the portfolio with laser-based analysis.
Both biogas analyzers can be remotely monitored via the Cloud Connect Kit: measurement data, status information and alarms are transmitted in real time via mobile network to a central platform. This allows operators of decentralized biogas plants to keep all measurement points in view – without needing to be on site.
